While sipping on hot steaming bowls of ban-mee during lunch breaks, we often exhange bits of juicy gossip amongst ourselves every once in a while.
Here are some wacko-insane feats I have heard some Housemen pull off on their innocent patients so far....
-setting an IV cannulae on the middle finger (ouch!)
-setting an IV cannulae in the middle of the chest (?!?!)
-setting an IV cannulae in the subcutaneous tissue, sticking a Tagederm sticker over it anyway
-doing an Arterial Blood Gas on the carotids (?!?!?!?!?!?!)
-pulling the patient's thumb onto the inkpad to get a thumbprint in order to get consent for an OGD procedure
-catheterizing a patient while he was sleeping (?!)
With this bunch of mad medic pals, I'm sure there will be more to come.....
